What is a 2D Echocardiogram?
A 2D echocardiogram, commonly known as a "2D echo," is an ultrasound test that uses sound waves to generate detailed images of the heart. The "2D" refers to the two-dimensional nature of the images, offering a flat view of a specific section of the heart. It is often used as part of a heart check-up to assess heart function and detect potential issues.
Why is it Used?
A 2D echocardiogram serves multiple purposes:
- Examine Heart Structure: It assesses the size, shape, and movement of the heart's chambers and valves.
- Evaluate Heart Function: It gauges the heart's pumping strength and checks for areas that are not contracting properly.
- Identify Abnormalities: These might include congenital heart defects, tumors, blood clots, or fluid accumulation around the heart.

How do I book a 2D Echocardiogram Scan in Singapore?
Generally, you are required to consult our doctor if you are a walk-in patient without any referrals. There will be a consultation fee of $38.15 NETT.

How Long Does It Take?
1. On average, most of our patients finish their 2D Echocardiogram tests within 30 to 60
minutes during off-peak hours. Please feel free to enquire about the best appointment
times with the least waiting time.
2. The report will be ready in 72 hours and will be emailed to you.
