A 2D echocardiogram, commonly known as a "2D echo", is an ultrasound examination that uses sound waves to produce detailed images of the heart. The "2D" designation refers to the two-dimensional format of the images, which provides a flat view of specific heart structures.

This test is frequently included in a heart check-up to assess cardiac function and detect any potential abnormalities.

A 2D echocardiogram serves multiple purposes:

• Examine Heart Structure: It assesses the size, shape, and movement of the heart's chambers and valves.
• Evaluate Heart Function: It gauges the heart's pumping strength and checks for areas that are not contracting properly.
• Identify Abnormalities: These might include congenital heart defects, tumors, blood clots, or fluid accumulation around the heart.

• Non-Invasive: Unlike some other tests, a 2D echo doesn't require any incisions or injections.
• No Radiation: Ultrasound scans do not have any radiation risks.
• Real-Time Imaging: Cardiologists can see the heart beating and observe its function in real time, which can be crucial for immediate diagnoses.

Generally, you are required to consult our doctor if you are a walk-in patient without any referrals. There will be a consultation fee of $49.05 NETT.

1. Typically, most of our patients complete their 2D Echocardiogram tests within 30 to 60 minutes during times when the clinic is less busy. Please do not hesitate to ask about the most suitable appointment times that involve shorter waiting periods.
2. The results will be prepared within 72 hours and sent to you via email.

At ATA Medical, our heart-related tests are conducted by our clinic staff and reviewed by our family physicians. If results show abnormalities or require further evaluation, we may arrange a follow-up with our partner cardiologist.
