A chest X-ray, also known as a chest radiograph, produces an image of the heart, lungs, blood vessels and chest bones. It can detect conditions such as pneumonia, fluid in the lungs, a collapsed lung, an enlarged heart and signs of heart failure.

It is used both for people with symptoms and for routine screening, such as the Permanent Resident Medical Check-Up or the Long Term Visit Pass Medical Check-Up.

For more detailed imaging, we also offer computed tomography (CT) scans at our clinic in Orchard.

A chest X-ray may be ordered by your doctor if it is suspected your symptoms are related to chest issues. Such symptoms may include:

Chest X-ray requires minimal preparation. Simply ensure removal of all metal objects such as jewelry, eyeglasses, and body piercings.
