Dr Paul Lim | Senior Consultant Cardiologist
Education & Medical Background
Dr Paul Lim Chun Yih is a senior consultant cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist with over 22
years of clinical experience. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2004, and subsequently obtained his
Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine and Membership of the Royal College of
Physicians (UK) in 2009.
In 2017, Dr Paul completed an advanced fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at the Barts
Heart Centre in London, awarded under Singapore's Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP).
His training focused on complex catheter ablations using advanced 3D mapping techniques, as
well as the implantation and extraction of cardiac implantable electronic devices.
He went on to obtain dual certification from the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) in
2019 as a Certified Electrophysiology Specialist and Certified Cardiac Device Specialist.
Clinical Focus
Dr Paul manages a wide range of cardiovascular conditions and procedures, with particular focus on heart rhythm disorders and cardiac device therapy.
Heart Rhythm Disorders
Diagnosis and management of arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular and ventricular tachycardias, bradycardia, and heart block.
Catheter Ablation
Treatment of complex heart rhythm disorders using advanced 3D electroanatomic mapping techniques to target abnormal electrical pathways.
Cardiac Device Therapy
Implantation, extraction, and follow-up of pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), and cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) devices.
General Cardiology
Evaluation and management of coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, hypertension, and hyperlipidaemia.
Cardiac Screening
Preventive cardiology including risk assessment, ECG, 2D echocardiogram, stress testing, CT coronary angiogram (CTCA), calcium score, carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT), and Holter monitor.
Device Management in Radiotherapy
Specialised management of patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices undergoing radiotherapy, including protocol development.
